What an amazing find in Ventnor City! Small, unassuming place with a warm welcome.
Saturday night reservations in our COVID-19 world can be a challenge, especially for a party of 4. We scored a reservation online at Pulia and we were so glad we did!
They offer indoor and outdoor seating, and we chose to sit outside (not ready to dine indoors yet)! Colleen was our server and she was a true breath of fresh air. So upbeat and friendly.
We split an order of meatballs to start, and three of us ordered the Lobster Special for our entrees, which was a lobster tail sitting atop the shell over truffle risotto. Flippin' yum. Our other party member ordered the Chicken Parmigiana, and the cool thing about Pulia is that they grill the chicken instead of frying it. Sounds sacrilegious from an old-school Italian standpoint, but he loved it (and the healthier spin).
We mentioned to Colleen when we were seated that it was our friend's birthday and she brought out a deconstructed tiramisu dessert complete with a candle and a flashing Happy Birthday sign at the end of our night. So thoughtful and so festive! It made our friend's day.
Even though this was our first visit to Pulia, the staff made us feel like we were regulars.
BYOB and ample street parking.
We came here because my wife and I are staying nearby for our anniversary. There are indoor and outdoor seating options during COVID. We brought our small dog and sat outside. The area is very nice and peaceful. The ambiance is clean, simple and elegant. The service we received was warm, welcoming and professional. Everything was served properly. The food was superb and we will definitely be back before our trip ends!
I have been to Pulia a number of times now, of course it's only been for take out recently. The food has been great every time I've eaten it. My favorite is the Pizza. You can tell they use quality ingredients. A surprise stunner is the sandwich with Italian meats and mozzarella. It is very simple yet very tasty. The sandwich bread is pizza dough which adds a great touch.
Probably one of the most compelling things about Pulia is one of the most simple things... the owner knows how to make a legit espresso. No Starbucks junk, or watered-down shot from other "espresso" bars. Reminded me of getting espresso from a bar in Italy.
This unassuming Italian restaurant cooks up some of the best Italian food I've had.
The highlights were 1) Eggplant parmigiana: what I loved about this dish was it wasn't too rich and overly fried - instead the eggplant and tomato sauce flavor really shine through 2) the tuna special with onions and spinach and 3) this simple pasta dish with olive oil, garlic and hot chili flakes. They also make delicious bread in house which comes out to your table piping hot.
The staff and owner are all incredibly nice and friendly and the service is just fantastic. Overall, this was a really great experience with delicious food.
Excellent food. We tried the margarita pizza and pasta. Everything was delicious and Delivery was fast. Would highly recommend.
The pizza is good quality fresh ingredients, and very digestible. Light and tasty for vs heavy and greasy NY style slices
Pulia is amazing. It's that feeling when you eat fresh and well sourced food and you end up not needing anything else because you're truly satisfied, which is hard to get from other "Italian" restaurants around the area. The staff are absolute sweet hearts and truly give love to every order. The prices are completely merited, I'm a farmer, and businesses like Pulia help support our international community and keep good people in business in trade for some of the best produce, meats, cheeses, and flour you'll find. Eating there is still an option, they have outdoor seating and everything is spaced apart. Their takeout is equally as good. I honestly can't stand yelp reviews or yelp but pulia deserves it!
Meatballs were great. Burrata was fresh and tasty. Food on other tables looked great, and it was a very friendly atmosphere. Will be back.
Stopped for a quick bite and a splash of wine
Staff was great and the pizza was amazing, the dough was the best. Bravo
During a weekend stay in Ventnor, we decided to give this place a call last minute on a Friday for a table. We were able to be seated rather quickly. We loved our meal so much that decided to go back again for dinner on Saturday. We tried the focaccia, pizza, pastas, aranciani, fried calamari and tiramisu. Our server was super friendly. We wound up buying a gift card for friends who just bought a condo in the area. Great place for a quick meal, date or time with family and friends. BYOB. Authentic, homemade pastas. Can't go wrong!
Ended up here for lunch randomly. Adorable decor, and the staff was really welcoming. They make their bread and pasta in house! I had a Panini and it was perfect. The bread they make is phenomenal! The staff was super friendly, we had a bunch of questions about how long they've been there, how their food is made etc, and they were knowledgeable and helpful. I immediately was sending their link to friends that live in town. Quality and freshness of the ingredients was great! Chatted with the couple next to us who gave us rave reviews about their pasta so we will definitely be back!
We have had breakfast and dinner at Pulia. This is a simple menu and we were told the idea is to eat like you are actually in Italy. Breakfast is NOT bacon and eggs or waffles... Breakfast is healthier and lighter than that, offering avocado salad on toast, a light bagel sandwich, fresh fruit, etc. Do not expect big plates and tons of food. Expect a healthy portion done right.
Each food item we tried offered a perfect bite. The tomato salad tonight (a special) was dressed just enough to accentuate the salad. The pizza ingredients were a harmony of accents. Everything is truly delicious.
We are so glad this gem landed in Ventnor!
Absolutely amazing dinner! My friend is here from England and we decided to try Pulia. Best decision! The food was perfect, the outdoor dining atmosphere was lovely, and the service is excellent. We loved it so much, we brought three friends back for a second dinner two days later! 100% recommend!
near Avellino, Italy, and I'm an Italian citizen.... I've spent plenty of time eating THE best Italian food and this truly stacks up. Not to mention, the service is incredible. They quickly accommodated our table even with a reservation mix up (our fault, totally...).
All around 5 STARS. Cannot wait to go again. To find this type of delicious quality at the shore, wow!
Go as fast as you can!!!!
We love Pulia's restaurant. It is small & quaint The food is moderately priced and delicious. The owner and staff are accommodating and welcome your business. I would highly recommend trying this restaurant.
European style cafe. Clean. Friendly staff. Healthy choices of food. You will not get disgustingly full there. They have coffee machine. Real coffee machine (cappuccino, latte, espresso). Ingredients seemed very fresh. Menu is not huge to overwhelm you but there is food for everybody's taste. The water glasses are actual glass. The owner tried to make his cafe as Italian as possible and I think he succeeded. He is Italian. Highly recommended.
Incredible focaccia and salads here. The burata was fresh and dressed with a top-notch balsamic. Arancini with marinara for an appetizer is a must. For an entree, veal chops, chicken cutlet and homemade papardelle are all outstanding options. Pulia offers the full Italian experience in Ventnor.
Came in during labor day weekend and it was PACKED. Our services was IMPECABLE (Thank you Collene you're the best) Served not only fine food, but amazing dad jokes, or mom jokes am I right Collene? Anyway, the food was great and the bread fresh as hell, thanks.
Outstanding authentic Italian meal & great friendly service on a busy Saturday night. If your pallate is used to real Italian you will quickly distinguish the fine ingredients used to create all the dishes. Pulia has been a must for over a year during our family weekends at the shore. Definitely check them out.
My husband, mother in law and I tried Pulia for the first time tonight and we already cannot wait to come back! We ordered a mix of items to share and they were all so fresh and delicious. The meatballs, calamari, and Diavola pizza are a must try! Also you have to order the tiramisu.. you will not be disappointed!!! It is AMAZING! Our waitress was extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the menu and made great recommendations. The owner stopped by every table in the restaurant and was so genuine and nice. The entire experience was incredible from the service to ambiance to food and we will certainly be back soon!
